Protein2GO
Second Quarter Progress
- Made the database changes necessary to support annotation non-protein entities (e.g., IntAct protein complexes, ncRNAs)
- Constructed a modified version of Protein2GO that works with the new database architecture
- Changes will be put into production the weekend of 6/13
Third Quarter Plans
- Work with IntAct to set up a pipeline to import protein complex metadata
- Make a further round of changes to Protein2GO so that it will support annotation to these complexes
Paper Annotation Tool
Second Quarter Progress
- Textpresso Central prototype developed
- Consists of a literature search engine and curation interface (Capella)
- Can process papers in PMC-XML (PubMed Central XML) format for subsequent viewing and curation
- Currently includes >770k open access papers from PMC
- Annotation information in JSON format will be sent to external databases/tools
Third Quarter Plans
- Develop capability to view papers in Capella in PDF format
- Test integration by sending annotations to other databases/tools, e.g. Noctua molecular modeling editor
