  • Checking other ontologies before obsoleting terms

(Pascale) Looks like many terms are used in other ontologies, even the most unlikely ones: http://www.ontobee.org/search?ontology=&keywords=protein+phosphorylation+involved+in+mitotic+spindle+assembly&submit=Search+terms Can we send an email to obo foundry to ask that people monitor our tracker if changes in GO impact them ? Otherwise this involves a lot of overhead for us.

  • In the past we have always emailed the contact for the person responsible for the target ontology. But as the obo world gets bigger and more and more external ontologies use GO, Pascale's suggestion might make sense.
