  • On call: Barbara, Chris, David, Eric, Jim, Kimberly, Pascale, Paul T., Tanya

Transcription Factor DNA Binding

  • The terms that include references to where the TF binds, i.e. distal or proximal, will be obsoleted
  • The important part is that the MF represents regulatory region binding; curators could capture more specifics about where the binding occurs with AEs/contextual information
  • For now, can use SO terms to capture the region
  • AI:Get SO into Noctua

Montreal Meeting

  • Reviewed agenda
  • Will have reports on major projects
  • Need to discuss annotation review
    • This is taking a lot of curator time, but is a high priority for the GOC
  • Some topics still need a fleshed out proposal, so may be punted until Cambridge, 2018
    • For example, what to do with protein binding and protein-containing complex
  • Switching to using HGNC identifiers for human genes - community will need sufficient time to prepare for this change
