Viral transmission by vector

Given that we want to eventually phase out the virus terms and replace them with generic 'other organism' or 'host' / 'symbiont' terms, I was wondering if we needed the term 'viral transmission by vector', def: "The transfer of virions by means of an organism (often an insect or other animal) in order to create new infection.".

Its parent is 'dissemination or transmission of organism from host by vector', def: "The movement of an organism from one host to another (or another place in the environment) by means of a third organism (often an insect or other animal).".

Perhaps the distinguishing factor between the terms is that 'transmission' sounds more direct, one organism to another, whereas 'dissemination' sounds more like scattering widely? Does anyone have any other ideas?

If we can find a difference between dissemination and transmission, I suggest we have a structure like this:

dissemination or transmission of organism from host ; GO:0044007

  • dissemination or transmission of organism from host by vector ; GO;0044008
    • transmission of organism from host by vector ; GO:0044009 [renamed from viral transmission by vector]
    • dissemination of organism from host by vector ; GO:00new01
  • transmission of organism from host ; GO:0019089 [renamed from transmission of virus]
    • transmission of organism from host by vector ; GO:0044009 [renamed]
  • dissemination of organism from host ; GO:00new02
    • dissemination of organism from host by vector ; GO:00new01
