Airports
- College Station Easterwood Airport (CLL):
Served by United/Continental to IAH and American to DFW.
91-102 miles from College Station, depending on the route taken. Traffic can be bad in Houston.
102 miles from College Station. Served by a variety of airlines. Probably the preferred airport if you fly Southwest. American has some direct flights to the Bay Area.
Ground Transportation
Ground Shuttle is a shuttle service that goes between College Station and IAH. I know people who have used this and think it's pretty good.
There will be shuttle service to the airport and the meeting from the Hyatt Place.

Out of state visitors will be especially interested in BBQ and Tex-Mex/Mexican options. Notable places
- Chicken Oil Co. ask for the Death Burger (jalepenos and Tabasco - yum Yum YUM - only the Brave should apply
- Fargo's is the top rated BBQ in town.
- Freebirds World Burrito is now a national chain, but got its start in Santa Barbara and College Station. Military pilots doing training at Easterwood were known to grab burritos in their flight suits.

The average weather for March 16: typically varies from 54°F to 70°F and is rarely below 41°F or above 81°F. There is often a chance of rain.

Things to do
College Station is centrally located between North Zulch and Old Dime Box, TX. It's a great place to live, but not the most exciting place to visit.
in Bryan/College Station
there are some interesting things, mostly on campus:
- Memorial Student Center- this has several small museum/ art gallery spaces.
- Display of more than 3,000 cattle brands from every county in Texas brands in the Kleberg Animal Science building
- The George HW Bush Presidential Library
Farther away
Houston has big city museums, shopping etc.
In the general direction of Houston
- Mid March should be a good time to for the annual blooming of Texas Bluebonnets and other wildflowers. Often these are visible on the highways, but there are also some nearby sites:
- the original Baylor campus in Independence, TX ~30 miles from TAMU
- Washington on the Brazos
- the Antique Rose Emporium this nursery has a lot of things in addition to some fields of wildflowers. They have roses that are gathered from [http://www.texasroserustlers.com
- Blue Bell Ice Cream tours are available M-F.
E of College Station, Huntsville State Park is one option for a possible birding outing.
Austin is ~90 miles W of College Station. There's a lot to do in Austin, but of note: SXSW is the week before the GO meeting
