The Marvin Center at GWU
  • The GOC Symposium & Workshops Day will be held on September 1st, 2015. The event will take place at the Marvin Conference Center, George Washington University, at the heart of Washington, DC. We will meet in Room 309.
  • There is no fee for registration for the Symposium + Workshops Day. All are welcome!
  • Please Register Here so we can plan breaks and lunch offerings.

Arriving to The Marvin Center at George Washington University

  • The Marvin Center at George Washington University is located at 21st Street Northwest, Washington, DC. The conference center is located a 6 minute walk from OWCHotel and a 5 minute walk from Foggy Bottom Metro.

Functional Context Matters: Building and Applying a New Dictionary for Human Development

"With the recent proliferation of genomic data sets, opportunities for computational scientists to make fundamental contributions to medical research have grown phenomenally. Dr Slonim's group is focused on developing novel computational methods to advance medical research in two primary areas: determining key regulatory processes governing normal human fetal development, and predicting or interpreting interactions between sets of proteins in a context-dependent fashion"

Afternoon Session

Dr. Ideker is Professor of Medicine at UCSD. He is the Director of the San Diego Center for Systems Biology and the Director of the National Resource for Network Biology. He is a pioneer in using genome-scale measurements to construct network models of cellular processes and disease.
