Ensembl view of GO annotation

Rachael, Emily and Tony had a meeting with Ensembl and Ensembl Genomes to discuss how they display GO annotations.

The Ensembl display is lacking several essential fields according to those suggested by the GO Consortium.

Ensembl currently get the GO annotations from UniProt DR lines, we advised them that this was not ideal as these annotations were heavily filtered. We suggested several ways for Ensembl to import GO annotations directly from GOA, they are hoping to implement this in the September release of Ensembl.
