The paper http://journals.iucr.org/d/issues/2003/01/00/gr2282/gr2282.pdf on page 132, near the bottom of the page, it says 'Since three of the PLP-site interactions are the same for P007 and ARC, it was suspected that P007 may be an amino-acid racemase and accordingly it was tested for d-alanine racemase activity. Though it exhibited d- to l-alanine racemase activity, further tests are required to verify l- to d-alanine activity and to rule out other racemase activities.'
