The mutualistic relationship between PAMGO (Plant-Associated Microbe Gene Ontology Interest Group; http://pamgo.vbi.vt.edu/) and the GO consortium continued with a meeting in July to continue development of the 'interaction between organisms' node of the biological process ontology. Areas such as the modification of host structures and processes, and microbe interactions with host defense processes were expanded; the finished proposal will contain terms covering both microbe and host processes. Many thanks to the PAMGO group for all their preparatory work, and to Bryan Biehl, Marcus Chibucos, Candace "Guest Of The Week" Collmer, Michelle Gwinn, Trudy Torto-Alalibo and Jane Lomax for making the interactions so productive and pleasant.
