Single-step biological processes

There are a number of GO BPs that represent the execution of a gene product. For many of these there is a corresponding MF term. This is low-hanging fruit potential F-P links. In these cases we would create part_of links from the MF term to the BP term. This means that gene product annotations will propagate from the MF to the BP -- but the converse is not necessarily true.

• transporter activity -> transport

• phosphatase activity -> dephosphorylation

• SUMO ligase activity -> sumoylation

• ubiquitin-protein ligase activity -> ubiquitination

• ubiquitin activating enzyme activity -> ubiquitination
