I am making notes on how OBO-Edit uses multi-core processors and multiple processors when these are available.

1) Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-142 laptop
2.53 GHz core 2 Duo processor
2.86 GB RAM
Win XP 32-bit
The Rule Based Reasoner runs on both cores. The reasoning takes a while to finish and the processor is not the limiting step.
After two runs of reasoner, the machine runs out of memory and the application has to be restarted.
This machine can be upgraded to 8GB RAM and 64-bit Vista, which might have an effect, but I have not tried it yet.
