SPOT documentation week

David OS, Melanie and Paola took part in a "documentation week" with the SPOT group at EBI. Briefly described suggested updates to documentation, mostly relating to ontology practices and development, both internal (GO wiki) and external (GO website).

Related: does anyone remember what motivated "Peripheral nervous system development" in the list of low-priority projects here http://wiki.geneontology.org/index.php/Ontology_Development#Projects? Should it be moved to "Proposed content work"?

David H: we noted it down as we were working on the CNS development, but never got around to it.

AI: move to "proposed work"; done.

Protege 5

Beta21 has been released. This means that it should be possible to load and save OBO. Has anyone tested yet or done any other work with it? Should we all be testing to see if worth moving?

Heiko gave a quick update on Protege 5. Haven’t tried saving obo yet, but should be fine. Note that it requires java 8, so we may need to install it if we don't have it already. Also, plug-ins developed by us [Heiko] will probably not work… Probably needs more testing. Bottom line - Don’t use it yet, but test it if you have time.

Biocuration 2016

Deadline for abstracts is Feb 1st. Who plans to attend, and what ontology dev work would we like to present (or be presented)?

It is not sure yet who will attend. May present autophagy work.
