Agenda

Pipeline

UniProt-GOA

  • George is leaving :-(
  • Penelope Garmiri will be the UniProt-GOA contact

Grant Progress Reports

Annotation Reviews

  • Any concerns, questions?

Use of 'contributes to'

Re-cap October GOC Meeting - Berkeley

  • Agenda
    • People can review action items - update working group members, if interested
  • Mangers meeting (Thursday afternoon)
    • Priorities between now and next grant renewal
    • Overarching goal: make GO-CAMs relevant to users
      • Models need to be "out there": available, viewable
      • UIs to allow queries using contextual information
        • Step 1 - gene centric view Idea: show activity unit and a small textual description for each model the gene belongs to (remember an old AmiGO activity view)
        • (later) - pathway view Similar to the pathway view
        • (later) - gene set view From an input list of genes, they get highlighted in a model
  • SAB (Friday)
    • Report pending

Minutes

  • Present: Colin, David, Dmitry, Dustin, Edith, Giulia, Helen, Karen, Kimberly, Laurent-Philippe, Pascale, Patrick, Rob, Sabrina, Seth, Stacia, Suzi A, Tanya

Grant Progress Reports

  • Discuss with go-managers whether we can use the new stats reporting to help with annotation group progress reports

Annotation Reviews

Use of 'contributes to'

  • Reviewed newly clarified guidelines
  • Some groups may need to review their use of 'contributes to'; for others, there may be no change
  • Question (Karen): Some subunits of the nuclear RNA pol II complex do not actually contribute to the polymerase activity, but are there for other functions. These subunits haven't been annotated to polymerase activity with the 'contributes to' relation; is that still correct? Yes, but note that making the correct annotations here requires accurate knowledge of the workings of the complex as a whole.

Re-cap October GOC Meeting - Berkeley

  • Review Berkeley meeting agenda and add yourself to working groups in which you have a vested interest
  • Goal for coming year: make GO-CAMs relevant to users
    • Will continually update on these calls on progress towards this goal
  • SAB report
    • Will ask Paul T. for update when available
