Review Documentation Feedback from GOC Meeting

  • Main points:
    • 'has input' and 'has output' are meant to capture specific, biologically relevant entities
    • the overall goals are to: 1) continue to develop a biological knowledgebase of interconnected entities and 2) capture specificity beyond what is currently in the ontology
  • Please help to provide additional examples as you come across them, especially for cases that we may not have covered already.
  • A note on ChEBI: if you use ChEBI to capture chemical entities, you may want to confirm classification(s) both in ChEBI and GO. Rhea is also an excellent resource.
  • AI: Provide more detailed documentation on using correct ChEBI ids for annotation, ontology development.
  • AI: Have a follow-up annotation review and call on use of metal ions in 'has input' extensions.

Migrating some CACAO Annotations

  • Some CACAO annotations will be migrated to Protein2GO so other groups can have edit permission and help maintain them
  • We need to make sure that all relevant groups have at least one Protein2GO account so they can do this
  • At some point in the future, we will think about migrating CACAO annotations to Noctua
