December Alliance All Hands Meeting

• Anything managers should be aware of ?
  • (Pascale): there were nice talks about Agile management process that many groups are now using.
    • What we are doing has many elements: product owners, defining specs, approving specs by scrum managers (PIs), etc
    • Main differences:
      • projects are smaller: 2-3 weeks
      • 'timeboxing': tasks are evaluated, either in term of hours/FTEs, or 'units'. People seem to prefer units. We make a scale, small tasks need 1 unit, larger 2, etc. If the units get too big the project probably need to be split up
      • Have a PI on each team - to be clear who makes decisions

  • AI: Define what is GO's plan for human curation; if there is something GO would like we should let the literature group know

Follow up on action items

Announce that the SVN is dead

Kim from Pombase was still using SVN to get the xrefs - https://github.com/geneontology/go-site/issues/1570 We need to communicate better- annotation calls and GO meetings are not enough.

• How about we announce it on the GO-announcement repo and go-friends, and maybe tweet/facebook the 'new' download/legacy download addresses ?
