This is a list of questions that arose while PAINTing PTHR10005.

Questions for MOD curators

Molecular Function

Mouse

  • Question: Can you check histone deacetylase inhibitor activity IGI for the gene SKI? I would be OK with a regulation process, but not for a MF annotation from this paper. (via email 13 Jan 2011 - PG)
    • Curator answer: Insert answer here.

Questions for ontology curators

Molecular Function

Biological Process

  • SF 3157237: I wonder why there are three independent pathways, BMP, SMAD and TGF signaling, that seem to be steps in the general TGF pathway - should there not be relationships between those terms?
    1. GO:0030509 : BMP signaling pathway
    2. GO:0007179 : transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway
    3. GO:0060395 : SMAD protein signal transduction
    • Summary of SF response:
      • I've moved 'activin receptor activity ; GO:0017002' and its children out from under 'transforming growth factor beta receptor activity ; GO:0005024' to match the process terms.
      • This means in GO, we are now consistently using TGF-beta to mean the molecule and not the superfamily.
      • We'll go over the SMAD signaling in the workshop.
