Update on projects

SGD Noctua migration

MGI remainders

  • GAF/GPAD and Isoforms
  • Questions:
  • Which ‘upstream annotations’ are converted from PR to MGI identifiers?
  • Possible approaches:
    1. Do nothing, i.e. MGI will lose the information about isoforms as annotated entities in the GPAD
    2. Modify the current pipeline so that the information in Column 17 in the GAF is used to populated Column 1 in the GPAD - this sounds like Sierra’s suggested approach
    3. Update the GPAD specification to include a new column that would be the equivalent of Column 17 in the GAF
    4. Include a structured property in the GPAD to indicate the isoform in Column 17 in the GAF

TO DO

  • Estimate of how much work is option 1-3
  • Decide whether we want to change the GPAD specs to have the gene identifier in Col1
